There are various labels that can be assigned to threads, placed in parentheses after the name of the thread. If there is no label, assume that the thread is open and takes place during the daytime. Here are the labels that can be used, and their meanings:
Quest -- A prearranged quest thread, created by a moderator and heavily moderated by that moderator. Unless it also has the label Open, a Quest's players have already been decided upon and nobody else can join.
Open Quest -- Just like the above Quest, except that anybody who has an approved character can join. However, it is very important that the way in which that character enters the scene makes sense.
Open -- This means that a thread wants more players. Anybody with an approved character can join and is encouraged to, but the way in which they enter the scene must make sense.
Closed -- This means that the thread has all the members it wants and nobody else is allowed to join in.
Night -- By default an in-character thread takes place during the day, but with this label it can happen during the nighttime hours.
Anyone can start a thread, but only a moderator can start a Quest thread.
