The only purpose of this website is to have fun playing together, but there still have to be some rules in order to make sure that nobody can spoil the fun for the rest of us. Therefore, I have compiled a list of basic rules for everyone to follow:
1. Don't be a jerk. This goes without saying, really. No cheating is allowed on this forum, it simply interferes with everyone's enjoyment.
2. Do not give items, currency, or experience points to your character without reason. This is a very serious rule; if you break it and are caught, you WILL be banned. I can't stress it enough. A list of items can be found along with their prices. Any items not on the list that are in play have been given by a moderator along with their statistics as a reward for a quest. Experience points can only be granted by a moderator. They don't sound like much at first but once you read the mechanics you can tell how much they're truly worth.
Which brings me to my next rule: 3. Read the mechanics. There is a list of playable races, if you want to play as a different race then tell me and I will consider adding it to the list. The system is only there to resolve situations that players might not be able to agree on; the overall purpose is still to have fun and it's generally free-form.
4. Keep it clean. Again, goes without saying. Just keep the discussions civil and appropriate. You can use minor swearwords in-character, but out of character it will earn you a strike. Even in character, NO F-BOMBS.
5. Within in-character forums, stay in-character. You can add in an out-of-character comment if it is specifically marked as such and accompanied by an in-character post. For example:
Out of Character: *whatever the OOC text is*
is bad, while:
Out of Character: *whatever the OOC text is*
In Character: *whatever the IC text is*
is good. I'm not going to give you a strike for this unless you do it repeatedly, but I will remind you to not do it.
6. No posting in other people's character journals. It's simply not good form. Please refrain from doing so, you will receive a strike.
7. Write your posts in third person, past tense. I'm not going to strike you for not doing this, unless you do it repeatedly and despite reminders.
That's really all that I'm asking of you, just make sure to follow the rules. Rule number one should cover any bad things I haven't mentioned here.
Remember: each time you break a rule you get a strike (banned for a week). Three strikes, and you are permanently out.
I don't mean to sound like an evil overlord or anything, but the rules have to be there. Now go forth and have some fun!
